Learning, Media and Technology: a doctoral research conference

London, 4th July 2011

We are inviting paper submissions for the first ‘Learning, Media and Technology Doctoral Research Conference’ to be held on Monday 4th July 2011 in London.

The one-day conference will be hosted by the London Knowledge Lab in conjunction with the Taylor & Francis journal Learning, Media and Technology. The event aims to provide a forum for current and recently completed doctoral students to present emerging empirical and / or theoretical aspects of their research. The conference aims to provide a supportive environment within which to discuss some of the key contemporary issues in the fields of educational technology and educational media.

The conference will be organised around a model where all attendees are expected to present a paper. As a result, numbers for the event will be strictly limited. If you wish to be considered as an attendee / presenter then please submit a 300-word abstract of your paper by Monday 17th January 2011. Submissions will be judged in terms of their relevance to the scope and themes of the journal.

Successful presenters will be informed by Monday 31st January 2011, and the deadline for submitting a full 6000 word paper will be Monday 30th May 2011. Attendance for all accepted presenters will be free of charge. In addition, selected papers from the Conference will be considered for publication in a special issue of Learning, Media and Technology.

Please mark your calendar and confirm your interest in participation by sending abstracts to n.selwyn@ioe.ac.uk

The organizers,
Neil Selwyn, Institute of Education – University of London
