We want to know about your experience as a member of research staff at Sussex. We have created a very brief survey (just eight questions) to help us improve things for you – please take a few moments to let us know what being a member of research staff at Sussex is like for you. Key aims

  • To influence University Policy and activities relevant to research staff
  • To provide an informal support network to its constituent members.

Current objectives

  • Campaign for adequate induction procedures for all new research staff
  • Organise events for research staff (e.g. tailored careers events, social activities)
  • Represent the views of research staff  (e.g. at Doctoral School meetings)
  • Compiling a database of all members of research staff
  • Advise the doctoral school on the development of a handbook for research staff
  • Assist the doctoral school in best implementing the concordat principles in the University of Sussex (with a specific focus on inductions, continuing professional development, appraisals, teaching, mentoring, facilities and attendance at conferences)
