Research Centre for Material Digital Culture logoThe Digital and Social Media Research Theme has organized a year-long programme of events which will address the area of Digital Humanities.  The following events are open to all staff and Doctoral researchers:

Lecture: “What is Digital Humanities?”

David Berry (Swansea University)
Thursday 6th October 12.30-1.30pm, Meeting House

Workshop: “Digital Shakespeare” (registration required)

Thursday 6th October, 2.00-5.00pm, SB 311
Registration for this workshop is essential, as space is limited. Email to book a place.

“Digital Methods and Software Studies after Narrative Intelligence”

Warren Sack (University of Santa Cruz, California)
Friday 21st October, 2.00-5.00pm, Attenborough Centre Creativity Zone

“Sound Studies and the Digital Humanities: Work in Progress”

Jonathan Sterne (McGill University, Montreal)
Monday 24th October 2011, 5.00pm, Silverstone 121
(co-supported by the Research Centre for Material Digital Culture)

All the events are open – but one – the digital Shakespeare workshop with David Berry requires registration as it’s in the MFM digital media lab which restricts numbers. If you would like to attend the Digital Shakespeare workshop please email to book a place.
